The Art of the Note
The handwritten note, once a thing of the past, is making a comeback
according to the news media. Many of us
remember writing thank-you notes for birthday or Christmas gifts we received
from family and friends.
Technology has made saying "thank you" or "thinking of you" faster and easier. But there is something so special and memorable when you receive a personal, handwritten note in the mail. It tells you the sender cares enough to take a few minutes to share their thoughts with you.
Sometimes knowing what to say -- just getting started -- can be a challenge. A note doesn't have to be lengthy; brief and heartfelt in two or three sentences can be just enough. Even a quick sentence or two on a pretty postcard will be appreciated.
Since not all of us have a way with words, here are some thoughts to help you get started. And if you use one of my note cards or postcards for your message, all the better!
